WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS

The FDA-approved medications Zepbound, Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Wegovy all carry a BOXED WARNING for thyroid C-cell tumors. There is a risk of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). These medications are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Common serious risks include gastrointestinal reactions, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and acute kidney injury. Please see the manufacturer's official Prescribing Information for Zepbound, Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Wegovy.

Compounded medication guides

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or manufacturing quality. They are dispensed only pursuant to a valid prescription issued by a licensed clinician after a clinical evaluation, from a state-licensed pharmacy. Compounded products are not the same as, not generic versions of, and not interchangeable with any FDA-approved products, including Zepbound, Mounjaro, Ozempic, or Wegovy.
