Price of Mounjaro: Cash, Insurance, and Fees

Mounjaro is a registered trademark of Eli Lilly and Company. It is an FDA-approved prescription medicine. A licensed clinician must evaluate a patient and decide whether prescribing it is appropriate.

Important safety information: Mounjaro has a boxed warning about the risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. It must not be used by anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, or MTC, or with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, or MEN 2. Other serious risks include pancreatitis, low blood sugar with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines, serious allergic reactions, kidney injury related to dehydration, severe stomach problems, gallbladder problems, and complications of diabetic retinopathy. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, and stomach pain. Read the complete official Mounjaro Prescribing Information and Medication Guide, including all indications, contraindications, warnings, and adverse reactions. A clinician should weigh potential benefits and risks for each person.

This page is general information, not medical advice. Talk to a licensed clinician about your situation.

The price of Mounjaro depends on which type of price you mean. A manufacturer list price, pharmacy cash price, insured cost share, and savings-card price describe different points in the payment process.

The current list price is a reference

Lilly's official Mounjaro pricing FAQ currently publishes a list price of $1,112.16 for a 28-day supply. That is a manufacturer reference before insurance benefits, rebates, discounts, and pharmacy charges. It is not a quote for any individual.

A pharmacy's cash price may be different. An insured patient may owe a copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount instead. Someone eligible for a manufacturer savings program may see another amount. Label every figure before comparing it.

The supply period matters too. A 28-day amount and a calendar-month estimate are close but not identical budgeting units. Compare like with like and ask how many pens and days the quote covers.

How insurance affects the amount due

Mounjaro's FDA-approved use is described in the official prescribing information. A health plan may review the prescribed use along with its formulary criteria. It may require prior authorization, step therapy, a quantity limit, or a network pharmacy.

Ask the plan whether the medicine is on the current formulary for the prescribed use. Then ask what you would owe at a preferred pharmacy before and after the deductible. Coinsurance can change when the plan's negotiated amount changes, while a fixed copay follows the plan's tier rules.

A formulary listing is not a promise of payment. Approval and payment are determined by the health plan. If the plan denies a request, obtain the written reason and appeal instructions. A licensed clinician can decide whether an appeal is clinically supported, but no outcome is guaranteed.

Read savings-card terms carefully

Lilly's official Mounjaro savings and coverage page currently describes different terms for eligible patients with commercial drug insurance.

Eligible commercially insured patients whose plans cover the prescription may pay as little as $25 for up to a three-month prescription, subject to maximum savings and other restrictions. Eligible commercially insured patients whose plans do not cover it may have a separate one-month offer. The current terms describe a price as low as $499 for an eligible one-month pen fill, with monthly and annual savings limits, fill limits, an approved-use requirement, and an expiration date.

These are conditional offer amounts, not universal Mounjaro prices. Government program beneficiaries are excluded from the commercial program. Lilly may change or end the terms. Review the official page at the time of the fill and ask the pharmacy what the final charge will be.

Getting a useful cash quote

If insurance will not be used, ask a state-licensed pharmacy for its cash price for the exact prescription. Give the strength, quantity, dosage form, and supply period. Ask whether dispensing or delivery adds a separate fee.

Call more than one pharmacy using identical prescription details. A percentage discount is less useful than the final dollar amount due. If you consider a pharmacy discount program, ask whether it requires a membership and whether the quote applies at that exact location.

Cash purchases and insurance claims are separate payment methods. If you have insurance but choose cash, ask the plan whether that spending will count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. Do not assume it will.

The prescription still requires clinical review

Price does not determine whether Mounjaro is appropriate. A licensed clinician reviews medical history, current medicines, contraindications, and relevant health information. A prescription is issued only when the clinician determines that it is appropriate.

The pharmacy also needs a valid prescription before dispensing. Avoid any seller that offers prescription medicine without an evaluation or cannot identify the licensed dispensing pharmacy.

If affordability may interrupt care, speak with the prescribing clinician and pharmacist. Do not skip doses, stretch a supply, or change the schedule based on a price page.

Body Good's role and separate fee

Body Good's $139 per month price is a Body Good service fee for the clinical program described during intake. It covers the stated clinical and support services. It is not the price of Mounjaro, and medication cost is separate and not included. The service fee is not a quote for any individual. Eligibility is determined by a clinician.

Coverage support may include assistance with benefit checks and plan-requested prior authorization paperwork. It does not mean coverage is obtained, arranged, handled, or assured. Approval and payment are determined by the plan, not by Body Good.

This website is an informational and pricing overview. It takes no payment, collects no protected health information, and runs no intake form. Intake and checkout happen on joinbodygood.com.

For a complete budget, list the pharmacy medication charge, Body Good service fee, and any outside laboratory charge on separate lines. Recheck each figure when the prescription, pharmacy, plan year, or savings terms change.
